On this occasion, through its Chilean branch Ingeteam SpA, Ingeteam will supply the complete control, measurement and protection system for the plant, which consists of the detailed electrical engineering, cabinet supply, digital equipment from its INGEPAC EF family with IEC61850 technology, as well as the logic project, substation commissioning, and the connection to the various telecontrol desks.

This new contract joins the different projects developed by Ingeteam in Chile, where protection, control and measurement systems have been installed in over 500 MW of renewable energy projects which have allowed the company to consolidate itself as one of the references in this market.

The El Romero Photovoltaic Plant has 246.6 megawatts (MWp) -196 MW rated, which ranks it as one of the ten largest photovoltaic plants in the world to date.   The photovoltaic plant offloads its energy to the grid via a  220/33kV substation formed by a 220kV line position, a transformer and 12 medium-voltage circuits.
