Rusatom International Network and the EDB sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation
Rusatom International Network and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) made a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on 10 August.
The document was signed by Alexander Merten, President of Rusatom International Network, and Vsevolod Smakov, Head of Project Division at the EDB.
The memorandum outlines the parties’ interest in establishing common principles of bilateral cooperation in Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries.
“The signing of today’s agreement between Rusatom International Network, an international business department of the Rosatom Corporation, and the Eurasian Development Bank creates additional conditions for the successful fulfilment of projects in conventional and renewable energy, nuclear medicine and other areas in the EDB member states where Rosatom enterprises supply equipment and services, run projects, or partner with local public and private companies,” Alexander Merten, President of Rusatom International Network, comments.
“The Bank is ready to support Rusatom in the fulfilment of high-tech energy and industrial projects in Armenia, Belarus, and Central Asia. We are looking forward to developing our cooperation in the future,” adds Vsevolod Smakov from the EDB.
The parties agreed to jointly promote Rosatom projects in high-tech areas such as renewable energy, thermal power, nuclear medicine, radiation technology in industries, agriculture, food processing centres, and the construction and maintenance of nuclear power plants and other advanced facilities.
In addition, the parties decided to jointly determine instruments and forms of finance for projects where Rosatom entities take part, extend information and advisory support in respect of project finance, take part in project promotion events (conferences, exhibitions, forums and workshops), and share information to mutual benefit.
