Vivint Solar Teams Up with a Leading Homebuilder to Install Rooftop Solar on New Homes Ahead of California’s Mandate
Vivint Solar announced it is working with one of the largest homebuilders in the nation to install its solar energy systems on the homebuilder’s new homes in Southern California. The collaboration is an integral part of Vivint Solar’s strategic plan to help homebuilders meet California’s upcoming mandate for rooftop solar installations on new homes.
With more than 130,000 installations completed across the United States, Vivint Solar has a proven track record designing and installing solar energy systems to provide clean, renewable energy. The new homes in Southern California will be constructed with solar energy systems designed specifically for several of the homebuilder’s models.
Vivint Solar will offer multiple solar plans to homebuyers, who will have the opportunity to choose their preferred financing option. The solar energy systems will be interconnected to the utility grid and provide the potential for new homebuyers to begin saving money on their utility bills immediately.
“As one of the country’s largest residential solar providers, we are in the ideal position to lead the charge in delivering on California’s mandate,” said David Bywater, CEO of Vivint Solar. “We are proud to collaborate with one of the largest homebuilders in the country and look forward to creating a seamless experience for homebuyers in Southern California to adopt clean, renewable energy.”
California’s building energy efficiency standards will require solar energy systems for new homes beginning in 2020. The California Energy Commission anticipates the overall impact of the new mandate will reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 115,000 fossil fuel cars.
