TVA to Install 1 MW Solar site Next to Memphis Natural gas facility

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced it will install Solar facility next to Memphis Allen combined-cycle natural gas plant site. The US$1.3 Million project outspread over 3 acres with 3,000 solar panels to be installed along Riverport Road next to the Allen gas plant.

The project will be TVA-owned largest solar project in service area. Construction of facility is under way and is expected to producing power by September.

Allen combined-cycle project will produce enough renewable energy to power approximately 2,900 homes.
