Six new contracts in Schleswig-Holstein: Senvion supplies turbines for over 60 megawatt

Senvion, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbines, signed six conditional contracts over a total rated output of 60 megawatt (MW) in Schleswig-Holstein at the leading trade fair Hamburg WindEnergy. The Bürgerwindpark im Kirchspiel Medelby GmbH & Co. KG had already put four wind farms with overall 27 Senvion 3.2M114 turbines and Senvion MM92 turbines into operation until the beginning of 2015. 22 new Senvion turbines of the company’s 2- and 3-megawatt portfolio will now be added to the wind farms.

Hendrik Böschen, Managing Director at Senvion Deutschland, says: “We are particularly happy to continue the existing business relationship with Bürgerwindpark im Kirchspiel Medelby GmbH & Co. KG with six new contracts in the future with which we go to auction together. The project shows how good cooperation enables the continuous expansion of green energy in Schleswig-Holstein.” The company Bürgerwindpark im Kirchspiel was founded in 2009 to realize the four wind farms and consists of about 360 limited partners.

In total, the wind farms will provide 83.000 households per year with green energy upon completion, nearly half of it due to the planned expansion.
