RUSNANO and Fortum to create wind generation fleet in Russia
Rusnano, a Russian state-owned development company, and Fortum have signed a preliminary cooperation agreement assess the possibility of creating a wind generation fleet in Russia of several hundred megawatts over several years.
Further progress in the matter is still dependent on several factors such as the Russian prerequisite for domestic production of wind power generating components.
Electricity production from renewable sources is a key element in Fortum’s strategy in Russia. Next year Fortum plans to complete the construction of Russia’s largest wind park with a capacity of 35 MWs-in the Ulyanovsk region.
