Jenner Renewables clinched financial close on 146 MW Solar Projects in Chile
Jenner Renewables asserted that it has attained a financial close on a portfolio of 12 146 megawatts solar projects in Chile. The first phase amounts to 46 MW expected to commence commercial operations in Q3 2018 while its second phase amounting to 100MW anticipated to attain commercial operations by Q1 2019. Jenner’s solar portfolio will displace 120,000 tons of CO2 per year in Chile and produce 324 gigawatts (GW) per year sufficing more than 43,000 Chilean households annually.
Jorge Calvet, Founder and CEO of Jenner said “As an independent power producer operating throughout Latin America, we are very excited to contribute in such a significant way to the development of renewable energy in Chile. This country is at the forefront of implementing a carbon free electricity system by 2040 and our projects definitely support this strategy.” he solar projects are supported by Chilean Small Distributed Generators’ (PMGD) pricing mechanism that provides a long-term stream of stable cash flow to the projects. Projects under the PMGD scheme are connected to distribution networks and bring generation closer to consumption, thereby achieving a key strategic goal for the country’s power system.
