EDF commissions 3 Wind farms adding 97.7 MW in UK portfolio
EDF energy Renewables announced that it has commissioned 3 wind farm which as a result adds 97.7 MW to its UK Portfolio. Pearie Law (19 MW)in West Lothian, Corriemoillie (47.5 MW) in the Highlands and Beck Burn (31 MW) near Carlisle are all now up and running and generating electricity.
EDF Energy Renewables Chief Executive, Matthieu Hue said that this is great news for them and they are very pleased to have an additional three wind farms to add to their portfolio. They will make an important contribution to the supply of low carbon electricity and will benefit the local communities too. They very much appreciate the support of the people living around the sites during the construction process.
The Pearie Law wind farm has a capacity of 19.2MW and provides enough low carbon electricity to meet the needs of approximately 11,600 homes. The community benefit fund totals £96,000 per year for the life of the wind farm.
Corriemoillie wind farm, in the Highlands has a capacity of 47.5 MW. This is enough to meet the needs of around 28,900 homes. There is a community benefit fund of £242,250 a year available.
Beck Burn wind farm has a capacity of 31 MW and this is enough to meet the needs of around 18,800 homes. The community benefit fund totals £155,250 a year.
