BSR forays into PPA with Shell Energy Europe
British Solar Renewable has assented to a 5 Year offtake agreement with Shell Energy Europe ltd, for the renewable power generated from the Bradenstoke solar power plant – the largest in England and the second largest in the UK. Bradenstoke solar power plant is owned and operated by BSR encompassing 269,000 panels operating at 69,8MW peak capacity possessing a 50MW AC export capacity. It generates approximately 65 GWh of clean solar energy alleviating 21,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
Graham Harding, MD and CFO of BSR commented: “PPAs provide stability in a volatile energy market and we are delighted that we have been able to work with Shell Energy Europe Ltd to complete this five-year agreement, which will enhance the value of the largest solar park in England.”
Shell energy is witnessed in 14 European markets including the offtake of renewable power from Wind farms and solar parks in the UK and mainland Europe, thereby catering to customers in the UK by supplying power generated from the Bradenstoke Solar power plant fulfilling their needs for renewable energy.
