Brazil gives nod for the construction of 22.08-MWp solar plant in Mato Grosso do Sul
The Environmental Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul, also known as Imasul gave its nod for the construction of a 22.08-MWp solar plant of Brazilian utility Eletrosul.
Situated in the city of Agua Clara, the new photovoltaic (PV) park will require investments of BRL 153.8 million (USD 39.6m/EUR 36m). Imasul has given licenses to 11 renewable energy plants this year. At the beginning of the month, it gave preliminary licences to 535.75 MW of wood-based biomass projects, representing combined investments of up to BRL 2.76 billion.
This is the first solar power project to be built in the state, said the government, quoting data from the national power sector regulator Aneel.
