GE’s first nacelle for 1,750 GWh Merkur OWF left the assembly line
GE Renewables announced that first nacelle for 1,750 GWh Merkur offshore windfarm has left the assembly line and will be stored at GE’s France Saint-Nazaire site waiting for the remaining 65 nacelles and later will be shipped to GE’s Netherlands Eemshaven logistic and operational hub for the installation process planned in Spring 2018.
GE’s Offshore Wind business CEO, John Lavelle said that Merkur is a very important project and a strategic windfarm for them because it allows them to continue their export ramp-up activity in Saint-Nazaire while they keep on moving into new strategic projects. Just last week they announced their first China offshore deal that will make GE the only supplier to have installed offshore wind turbines in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
