Mark Ahlstrom, elected new president of UVGI
The Board of Directors of UVGI (Utility Variable-Generation Integration Group) elected Mark Ahlstrom as new president. Mark will Oversee the strategic growth plan and development of expanded services for UVIG’s Global membership.
UVIG’s executive director, Charlie Smith said that as a recognized leader in wind and solar integration and forecasting, Mark has been very much active in UVIG for over 12 years with a proven track record for strategic vision and successfully leading and driving innovation, Mark is well suited to lead the implementation of UVIG’s growth strategy and development of expanded member resources and services.
Mr. Ahlstrom is an engineering graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mark is a senior member of IEEE and a member of CIGRE and the American Meteorological Society and also the Vice President of Renewable Energy Policy for NextEra Energy Resources and Wind Logics. He is very involved with grid integration and market rules for economic, reliable and sustainable power systems.
